I went out yesterday to look at a spot i was gonna hang a treestand. Its about a 1/2 mile from the closest road, and its out in the middle of a standing corn field.I got out there and spent about 15 minutes looking around before i noticed something coming down the fenceline at me.

I sat down and watched and pretty soon 3 other guys come popping outta the corn crazy.gifOne of thems carrying a treestand frown.gifThey got a little closer and recognized them, it was a farmer from around here and his son, along with one of his sons buddies.

I jokingly told I had 'Dibs' on this spot and he would have to leave grin.gifHe looked around for a minute and told me i might have dibs but he had a treestand and i didnt grin.gifSo I again jokingly told him that was fine, we would get his stand hung and then we could all use it, he said that would be fine shocked.gif

We hung the stand, pruned some stuff up and visited.Hes gonna be combining and his kids got school for awhile so he asked if i knew where the rest of his stands were hung.I told him I did and he told me to go ahead and hunt them to as long as nobody was in em, but in return he wanted to be able to hunt mine.He owns a lotta ground and I own exactly 2 treestands and do most of my hunting from the ground so it didnt take me long to do the math.I agreed to that and added some more really good ground to my list of places i had permission to hunt cool.gif

IMO this worked out good for everyone and was a lot more productive then bickering over who was gonna hunt this little tiny 1/2 acre patch of grass and trees we were standing in. wink.gif
