Please pray...

that the person who picked up my bow along the road this morning is honest and will seek out its rightful owner.

As I left work this morning I got a second wind and decided to go and sit for a few hours and maybe luck out and get my doe. After sitting until 10am without seeing a tail I went back to the truck only to be approached by the landowners dog. He was loose, barking up a fit.

I put my bow up on the tonneau cover of my pick up and went to calm the dog. Gaining his confidence I proceeded to change out of my hunting clothes and and put them in the tote in the front of the truck. I went back and got the dog on the chain talking to him as I got in the truck. In my haste I forgot all about the bow and didn't notice it on the cover.

When I got home I realized what I had done and immediately went back to the property. The worst of my fears were true. No sign of my bow anywhere. The landowners wife was there and said she didn't see the bow in the driveway. She also said she didn't know how the dog got out of the house. confused.gif

I looked the whole way back up there. I took the same route back that I came home on. There was no evidence of it anywhere. I drove down to the bottom of the hill where I am sure it probably came off and walked up the steep side. It could possibly have rolled over into the weeds. No luck all the way up the hill. The other side of the road would have had it stick out like a sore thumb. Needless to say I am devastated.

I can only hope that whoever picked it up will see the lost add in the paper and the signs I made along the road asking for help in getting it back. A reward is in order for its return. I hope it is enough incentive

The bow is the best set up I ever had. Its a Parker ultra 35 overdraw with a tm style launcher. Optimizer Lite HHA Sight with four X7 eclipse arrows tipped with Razorcaps in 100gr. quiver and Sims limb savers teflon slide, cable silencer, Sims stabilizer etc, etc,

All totaled I have over $1000 in it that I stand to lose and will find it hard to replace. Unbelievable, that I do such a bone head thing. All because of an upset dog who shouldn't have been out of the house

barking at a guy in camo. frown.gif I don't know what else will happen next or what else to say.

Please pray and hope that the bow makes its way home. Thanks all for being there for me.

Re: Please pray...

I feel for you buddy, but I don't think you'll ever see that bow again....I hope I'm wrong.

I saw a lady place her handbag on top of her car at a shopping center once and drive off. I followed her, honked my horn at her, flashed my lights at her, but couldn't get her to stop. I followed her to pick up her handbag when it fell off, in order to return it to her, and ended up following that lady all the way to her house. She thought I was some kind of nut-case but she was relieved to find her handbag still on top of her car.

I once placed a half can of Dr Pepper on the back bumper of my pickup. I drove 18 miles to my destination, and that can was still sitting there.

Yesterday I posted about cutting my finger on a Muzzy, and said "Here's My Sign." I guess you also have a sign, but it will be an expensive one.

I hope someone finds your bow and returns it, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. There seems to be a shortage now days of honest people.

Be sure to check the local yard sales for the next few weeks.

Re: Please pray...

Sorry to hear that. Hope the person who finds it (if someone finds it) knows how to get in touch with you.

Put up flyers in the area, peole's mailboxes.(I found my lost beagles that way.) I always said that there should be some kind of serial number on bows, just like guns. Would come in handy in a case like this.

Good luck finding your bow.

Re: Please pray...

Thanks for all your support everyone! Still looking at the positive!

I really didn't need to hear some of it. All I asked for was a little hope and a prayer. I know how people are in the world today. You can only hope for the best in some of them.

I appreciate all of the offers. I just dug out my Carrol by PSE Dominator 3D. I got it shooting the 100 grain Thunderheads out to 30 yards. A little string wax and I am ready to go I guess. Maybe my sign is that I needed to kill a few more deer with this bow.

I have my sister-in-law doing the yard sales and all the local bow shops have been notified. A check on ebay and the classified adds in all the papers are being carried out by many I have talked with. For this I am most thankful.

Re: Please pray...

rut---you might make a report with the local police--if you have serial number they can make a report of "lost bow"---I know they do that with guns. Pawn shops have to make a list of serial number for items pawned and they are checked by your local law enforcement agency for being stolen---just a thought!

Re: Please pray...

Thanks, Todd. I have the Warranty paper somewhere in this paper jungle I seem to inhabit. I was going to supply that info to all the bow shops in the area in case someone tries to sell, trade, or fix it. Thanks for the suggestion, it is a good one that I have really not thought about. wink.gif
