VermontHunter
I used the spitfire tips with the goldtip 5575 carbon shafts and harvested a great deer with this combo. They fly like a dream and penitrate well..and like Sgt Will said they fly like field tips, but like all things it's all preference... Wimpy
Re: opinions on expandables I shoot the Rocket Steelhead and like it very much.I killed a doe earlier and got a complete pass through on a quartering away shot .They shoot just like a field point so you don't have to adjust your sights any.Give them a try I think you will like them. Guest ExtremeSoloDubV
Re: opinions on expandables I have used them for about 5 years now. I use the 85 gr sidewinder. They leave holes in deer the size of a .30-06 and haven't had one run more than 50 yards (knock on wood). I highly recommend them. Have never had anything but good performance. Hope this helps. Swamphunter
Re: opinions on expandables I think they have came a long way. I personally like the Rocky Mountain Revolutions as they open rearward and it lessens the chance of deflection during a quartering shot. Mach1
Re: opinions on expandables I use NAP Spitfires and I shot a deer earlier this season and my broadhead didn't open but it did pass through completely and the deer was down within 75 yards. My brother also used them, then switched to Muzzy fixed blades. He hated the Muzzys after using the Spitfires. So he went back to Spitfires. They shoot just as straight as my field points. VermontHunter
Re: opinions on expandables Well Finn they are indeed expensive that's for sure but they are great broadheads....and I also think all of our brave Active U.S. Soldiers should get a discount on thier hunting supplies and gear. I for one would chip in to help ya get a set. That's the least we could do..I know how the military pay is from my own experince..THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE.. dg
Re: opinions on expandables My buddy shoots the Spitfire pros with a cut-on-contact blade and the metal lock (no rubberbands req). He paid about $35 for 3. He's killed a nice 8 pt and two hogs this year with excellent results. I've been shooting Muzzy's for over 10 years, but I may try spitfires next season just for the heck of it.

KSBOWHUNTER
Re: opinions on expandables There are two types, the regular spitfires, then there is the pro series, pro series is probably what you saw. I think i paid about 25 - 30 dollars for the regular spitfires.
