They pretty much grazed circles around my stand. All passed within 5 yards under the stand. Apparently they wanted to be shot..good thing I'm holdin out for a good mature one. I stayed in bed, it's too early forme to get too excited, deer activity won't really pick up for at least a few more weeks. After watching them for about 5 mins I decided to try and take the big doe if she came close enough, unfortunately for me she never did. Eventually they got spooked and ran back into the woods, I tried to stop her by going "bleh" a few times, even had the bow at full draw, but they had made up their minds, they did come back out at last light right after I lowered my bow to the ground. Not a bad way to start the season considering I was expecting nothing. It sounded like there was definitely other deer behind me, but they never showed themselves. Guest TheNumber1Young1 Posted October 2, 2005 Report Share Posted October 2, 2005 Re: Good opening morning! i did great!, got my 4th deer today, 3rd buck, and 2nd buck with a bow, i got a nice 5pt(5 points rings can fit on), its nothing big but its a deer, i had 8 young bucks walk by me at the same time...i decided too fill the freezer, bc i wanted some jerky , i put a good shot on him, he only went 40 yds.
