horst
Well, last night i had to take my wife out for supper. We got done eating and there was about 1 1/2 hrs of daylight left so i grabbed my bow and headed out. There was deer all over as I was driving out to my stand so I decided instead of bumping them out trying to get into a stand id go groundhunt a patch of corn on public ground.I started walking out there and seen ears in the switchgrass walking towards the foodplot I was headed for I snuck up to the edge just in time to see a huge doe, she musta wieghed 170 lbs or more, cut across the clearing in front of me and go into the corn in the middle where i usually sit.So I was pretty well stuck where i sat.I bet I seen 15 deer do the exact same thing while I sat there wishing id of been there 10 minutes earlier. this morning I get up and head for another stand in the same section. Its only about 200 yrds off the road but its old gravel pits, and really dangerous to try sneaking through in the dark. Most days I wait till first light to start in so I dont wind up in a hole full of water.Usually not a big deal since the deer take thier time feeding back through this area and stop for a drink before bedding down. Its usually an hour or better past sunrise before they get thier. This morning however it was about 10 minutes later then I usually get thier. In the early morning light I couldnt do much except sit there and watch the 5 does that were playing under my stand Anyway, ive still got an unused doe tag in my pocket.Wonder how mad my wife would be if I set all the clocks back 10 minutes
Master_Chief
Re: 10 minutes Wow what a great idea. Set the clocks back. Sounds like the deer were all over. Better luck next time.
popgun
Re: 10 minutes Just a point.... If you missed the deer by being 10 minutes late, and set your clocks back 10 minutes, won't you then be 20 minutes late? I think I would set my clock forward. ....popgun
