Re: Who are you working on?

I am glad you shared that with me thanks. First you nor I will completely believe everything any one says. That is why I read the bible. second I am a show me not tell me christian the older I get the more I relize that words are cheap. Lastly, what church were you raised in. I am just curios I do not beleive you have to go to the same church as me, heck I go to a Lutheran church here and have always went to a baptist church back home. The last thing I will say is this. What if you are right and there is no God, I have lost nothing. I go to a place were my friends are and we have a great time. I do give money to our church but for the time I am there it is cheap when compared to entertainment. But, what if I am right and there is a God. Then hopefully he will spread his grace on me and let me enter into the gates of heavon for eternity. Unfortunatly nonbelievers will be left out. I will not email you everyday or pm you I just think you have more to lose with your belief system than I do with mine but ultimatly it is your decision. Please let me know if you ever have questions and I will find the right verse to try to answer your questions. I will give you my opinion but I will ALWAYS give you the reason and the Verse from which my opinion comes from. And no I am not always right not even close. Well good luck this season and I am glad we can be open and honest about our beleifs, just wish you were closer maybe we could hunt together! Good Luck

[ QUOTE ]

Every time I am in a tree stand and see the sun rise over the horizon or when I am in a duck blind and look across the marsh and see all the colors of autumn, I know I am in God's church. I don't believe I have to go to a parish and praise God in front of anybody else just for God to know I worship and believe in him.

To me, if someone asks me something and I say no, leave it at that. Otherwise it is like putting pressure on me, and I have been known to get a little irate with them. Some people just don't want to hear it. Just my opinion. smirk.gif

Re: Who are you working on?

Sorry for not getting in this one any sooner, but just couldn't resist. It amazes me to hear the reasoning and responses that I get every day when I invite people to come to church with me.

It may sound odd, I guess coming from a preacher/pastor's mouth, but after a few years of very close observation I have to agree with what many are saying here in this thread. I don't believe the reason, for the most part, that people come to church deals with "denominational" (i.e. baptist, catholic, pentecostal) issues...........but rather one of the main reasons that people don't go to church is because of people inside the church who claim to be right with God, yet live like the devil. And God help the souls who cast a negative light for Christ in that manner. Because it is people like this that make it harder for me to invite and encourage people to come and worship our Creator in an organized setting. There are many people who I come in contact with on a regular basis.......who are good people..........but somewhere down the road someone presented a negative light for Christ by their life and therefore, it has caused them to move further away from worshipping God in a "church" setting. Again, I say "God Help!"

But saying that, I do say this..............church is a wonderful place, where many wonderful people come and meet each and every week. But the reason that I go to church is not because of who is going to be there and how much is going to be in the offering or how much I am going to put in the offering or even that it is my job and I have to preach week in and week out. But the reason that I go to church, is because it gives me a chance to worship my Creator in an organized setting and learn more about Him from the Word of God with fellow believers in the right mind and the right heart. Does that mean that everyone that is there is right? No. Does that mean that everyone who does not come is not right? No. But then again, I don't have to worry about them..........the only person that God has given me total responsibility over is me. I may preach to those others and lead them to a choice that should be made; but I can't make them. And, that is just my honest opinion.

Please be kind, when you are throwing rocks back at me! blush.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif
