Re: Team: LUCKY 13!

well, got the pics in the entry thread....

as of now, I cannot shoot another buck unless I go to NSWC Crane, the naval base nearby....

I am allowed to hunt there because my wife is a civillian employee. I have to buy a special tag, but it will allow me to shoot another buck. And if I do, it will be bigger than the one I have.....

Until I can get on base, I am going to concentrate on some turkeys that are on the ground I've been hunting......First year that there is a fall season on turkeys in Indiana...

Re: Team: LUCKY 13!

Hey, All don't worry I am here and man am I excited. I should be able to come up with something for our team last year I was able to take an 8 pt that scored about 110 with my bow. I have seen several nice bucks on the farm 120-130 class 8s and 10s I hunt in Pa and in the first week I have passed on 1 8pt and about 10 does that is just what was in shooting range I have seen many more. last year due to injury I was not able to go out of state I ussually travel to WV to hunt. I have a 3 day rut hunt in ohio with a bow and then we leased a 580 acre farm in WV hoping something turns out but it is hunting so that is all I can do for now is hope and put myself in good position.

Re: Team: LUCKY 13!

I should have been hunting the last two weeks but I am still behind because of the Hurricane's. I finally managed to cut to my food plots and will be planting this weekend. Have some good buck still hanging around. Will make my first hunt this weekend also. Good luck all. grin.gif

Re: Team: LUCKY 13!

It finally feels like hunting season. I have been way behind because of the hurricanes down here. I finally managed to get all my food plots planted and my stands back up. I will start hunting this weekend instead of working at camp. I have missed 3 weekends of hunting just trying to get to my plots and stand sites. I have some more pics of the big bucks and they are still around but not in velvet anymore. I will still have to work in the middle of the day cutting some more trees from trails but I dont have to kill myself doing it. grin.gif

Re: Team: LUCKY 13!

Hunted at Crane this weekend.....

I had a 4 pointer within 20 yards, broadside, I passed...

Took a shot at a 6 pointer last night and missed......it's just as well, I've got a lot more season to go, and there are some HUGE bucks up there.......

Does are everywhere, and the bucks are chasing them......This is gettin' good....
