horst Posted October 4, 2005 Report Share Posted October 4, 2005 I wish the wind would switch to the north.Theres just so many more places I can hunt with a good north wind and last night I added another place to that list. Had the kid out trying to pass shoot geese last night, it was way to hot to bowhunt and he hasnt killed anything with his nrew shotgun yet so I thought we would give it a try.The geese werent flying at all and right before dark a truck stopped as we were getting ready to walk out.It was a kid I know from the next town over and he travels that road every night.He told me I was carrying the wrong weapon for that spot.I asked what he meant since we were just sitting in a road ditch. He said every night for the last 3 nights hes driven past there and a big 10 pointers been standing in the road right about dark.Apparently the deers not afriad of cars, goose hunters, or peole in general He comes out of a small foodplot on state ground and walks into the corn on the other side without paying attention to anything around him. If the wind switches to the north tommorrow like their talking Im gonna go sit in the edge of that corn and see if I can get a look or a possibly a shot at him coming across the road.
