Yep, my buddy just shot his buck at 282 yds open sights and dropped it stone dead. TC system one 100 gr 777 and 250 gr SST. I'll post pics soon.

PS I got a smokepole deer too, but at 50 yds. See "meat buck " post in deer forum.

He thinks the same thing, couldn't believe the distance when he lasered it. He just put the sights on the top of the shoulder and touched it off.

The terrain here can mess you up unless you have a rangefinder. My dad once shot a buck he thought was at 250 YDS only to later range the distance at 400+ (shot with a 30-06). The steep angles allow for more error in ranging an animal. I have passed on shots that I later learned were well within my range too.
