Guest lostiniowa Posted October 5, 2005 Report Share Posted October 5, 2005 The weekends of the 14-16 and 21-23 I am going back to Oklahoma to hunt bow and then muzzleloader. The last 2 years we have killed 3 nice ones 145, 149, and 158 we food plot and use minerals and have a great place. the only thing is that know I live in iowa land of giants. Well its starting to get cool here and farmers are harvesting there corn so its getting better around here. It is still warma back home (high) 70's. I probably have better deer around her albeit on public land but I am headed home 2 weeks in a row. I am hunting with my best friend (my brother in law) and being on private land too. My friends here say I am crazy but the time back home with my good friend I don't see is too much of a draw, just hope that the weather cools a bit! If you have the gas money to spare, the time, and the dough for the non-resident license; I'd definitely go for it. Enjoy yourself in OK besides cant think of a better way to keep them big bucks in IA lol you have just as good a chance to shoot a 150 class deer in OK as you do in IA. There's still nothing like being able to head back and walk the same woods you did in previous seasons. Yeah, you're crazy for coming to Oklahoma to deer hunt when all the big ones live in Iowa.....
