doubleA
cmaier, I have used the Gooey pads for several years now and like them for the most part. About 5 years ago when they first came onto the market some folks had problems with them seperating and coming apart. I never had this happen on the 4 target guns I have them on. They do soak up recoil very well, as they are made of a very sticky and soft material. If you set your gun down on it's butt, the Gooey will pick up dirt, grass etc. When stored in my safes the I always store the guns barrel down this is due to the pad sticking to the carpet and changing shape slightly because of the weight of the gun. They are not for everyone, I have a few friends that hate them with a passion. As you stated, they do come in a choice of colors, even metal flake which are cool. In closing, they are the soft shooting pad I have ever used (simms, pachmayer, kick eze) Life is good, Give God the Glory....doubleA
AJ
Re: gooey pads I have one on my Singles and Handicap trap gun. Like DoubleA mentioned, they are outstanding at soaking up recoil. They are THE softest pad I have ever felt. They also wear fairly quickly though. Also like he mentioned, they will pick up dirt, grass, leaves, etc, basically anything they touch. I would not use them on a hunting gun. But I love them on a trap gun.
Guest Xen
Re: gooey pads I have tried them a few times on guns that are not mine, so yes, fit could have factored into the equation, but... i didn't like them. i like to shoot clays like i'm hunting, with the gun down until i see the target. i found that it would grab a bit on the way up on my shirt. after mounting the gun, yes, it was nice and soft, but, i didn't think it was any better than either the "terminator" or "kick-eeze" recoil pads. if you are having a problem with recoil, one thing i would suggest is a mercury filled recoil reducer that goes inside the stock. I put one in my wife's gun, she absolutely loves it. I personally recommend getting rid of as much recoil as you can if you plan on shooting clay targets (a lot of them anyway - like registered shoots, etc)
