I always tell my buddys "you can hunt my stand, but don't drink my apple juice" grin.gif

LOL. Apple juice jugs work well. Urinating from a treestand in my experience does not in any way bother deer, and in some instances I am sure it has attracted them.

Re: Peein in treestand

Human urine will turn to amonia fairly quickly with then smells not that different from any animal urine.

I know guys who bottle their own peee to use in scrapes and had great success.

A few guys on RT do too.

Just last night I let er rip from my 18' stand and had a nice buck walk with 35 yards of me a couple hours later. It was to close to the end of legal light and I was in a huge pine tree so too dark to shoot (longbow too) but it never made him miss a step.

I use to bottle mine until I learned about the whole amonia thingy.

Now I just let it rip.

Letting it hit the leaves will sound like a deer peeing too IMO...

LOL

(Sick subject huh.)

Re: Peein in treestand

Superguide and vtbowman must have had the same teacher I did. I've always been told that the particles that seperate one species urine from another are dead and gone within a couple of minutes of being exposed to air. All that's left is purified water and amonia. Same as every other critter. The sound of it hitting the leaves on the ground could be an attractant

Re: Peein in treestand

My gun stand is no problem. Its big enough for two and has camo burlap all around.

My bow stands are not so. They are small, no camo, just some nearby trees for cover.

My property is landlocked so hunting near a property line is very easy to do. In fact, both my bow stands are near not one but two adjoining property lines.

I have a neighbor to my right and a neighbor to my left at distances of 100 and 150 yards. Both are bowhunters and use binoculars.

I can only imagine what might happen if they happened to be using those binoculars while I decided to pee from my bow stand.....;)

I pee in every scrape I can find. This i; grose you out. I also pee in a cleaned out milk jug and let it sit for a few days. I pour it in all my scrapes. My dad was wrong on the Dont pee around your stand thing. I have some nice ones and my wall and have used My pee to bring em in.

Re: Peein in treestand

This is actually an interesting thread, a little gross, but interesting. I was always under the impression that human pee would have the deer running like mad, it doesn't seem the case from the posts on here. When I first started hunting I would pee from the stand onto the ground if I had to, I don't know if it helped or hurt, never saw a deer from a stand for awhile. I whizz in plastic bottles now, I just prefer that on the off chance that the deer where I hunt don't take to "my scent", actually, this morning I wizzed on the ground when I got out of the stand, went to the riverbank and let her fly, must've been the rushing water sounds. The only thing I worry about is the other, I suffer from IBS (if you don't know, PM me.) I haven't had an attack in the treestand thank God, and I hope I never will.

Re: Peein in treestand

I've never had or heard of deer spooking from the scent of human urine. The only liablity that I think peeing from your stand has is the act itself. If you're like me then a deer is likely to come when you're as far from finishing as possible!
