I have a few students kind of like your friend. Every day I show them how to type a letter, and every day they turn something in that's double spaced instead of quadruple spaced, one space after a period instead of 2 spaces after a period, and the funny thing is, I keep marking it wrong and I keep pointing out their mistakes, and they're flabbergasted when it's marked wrong. But he was ready to shoot a forkhorn last Sunday but did not only because of a safety issue involving his Mom. He asked me my thoughts. Isaid if it made him happy then I would be happy. It would have been his first bowkill so.... Ialso said that I might have been ready to take it. BUT neither oneof us would have complained. Because any deer we take is a trophy . Sure everyone wants that big buck but then a spike or forky comes out and the fever takes over. I look at it this was, as long as my freezer if full then it was a good year. He let 4 or 5 does pass by his stand and guess what? I huge 8 pointer that grossed about 160 passed by - probably 51/2-61/2 or older -completely gray face. It's mounted on his wall now. They just have to complain about something or their day just doesn't go right. As for the farmers...around here they complain because they didn't get enough rain, and they will only get about a half a crop; and then it rains before harvest, and they can't get in the fields with their equipment, so they harvest about a half a crop. I have seen hunters like you are talking about, that shoot the young ones and complain about not seeing any big ones. I have also seen hunters passing on the bucks all season waiting for Mr Big Buck and he doesn't show. So they complain that their freezer is empty, and that deer tag didn't taste very good, no matter how much barbecue sauce they put on it.
