Re: Pentax Whitetails Unlimited Scope

Its a very good scope. It has a bright picture and is good quality.

JUST BUY ONE ALREADY! LOL

If you want a top quality, bright, and clear scope, get a Schmidt and Bender or Nightforce. Nothing else is close. They make a Leupold seem like a Tasco.

Wonder what the light transmission % is on these scopes confused.gif? I ordered one, i bet its gonna be great.

I don't know what the % is but I do know that in the early morning or in the evening, I can see a lot better with my Pentax or my Burris than my friend can with his Leupold. We have compared them several times and he will have to quit at least 15 to 20 minutes later or earlier than I do.

I don't know what the actual percentage is. Brightness determination can be different to different shooters. Older shooter's eyes can be a lot more sensative to light levels than a younger shooter. What appears to be fine to some may not be fine to others. Hunting areas also make a difference. If someone hunts dark timber, their hunting time is reduced compared to a hunter that shoots over bean fields.

Either way, I think you will be pleased with your choice. The Pentax Lightseeker was one of the clearest scopes I have ever looked through.

Re: Pentax Whitetails Unlimited Scope

Sorry bro I can not remember the model of the Pentax scope. It was a few years ago.

Just remember they were both around $500 or so...

The Pentax looked clearer and brighter to me.

Of coarse this happened to be after I had bought a nice 3.5-10x50 Leupold Var-III for my Remington 300 Ultra Mag...

Although I can not complain about my scope either. smirk.gif
