Re: Official Boston Bruins thread

What a stupid penalty Bertuzzi took and Pronger was either in the penalty box or on the ice for just about every goal against the whole Olympics-we deserved to lose our best players for that size of ice weren't there.Quinn got outciached big time every game too-time to turn a Sutter loose I'm thinking.

Re: Official Boston Bruins thread

Well 4 years ago they pulled it together jsut in time, thei year i think they needed one more game. No doubt Canada had the most talented team there, but they can't seem to come togeter as a team as fast as other countries. I know they have a tough NHL schedule, but I think this is proof they need to find time to get them playing together a bit before the olympics. Either that or figure out why the other countries adapt to their new teammates so much faster.

I didn't see the game so i can't comment on it. I will say that using the NHL's tough schedule as an excuse is weak at best, how many NHL ers are on the final 4 teams?? Lots!! I will however say that one of my final 2 picks is gone.....Canada, the other I'd have picked was the Czech Republic. They're still there but is anyone's medal now.

I thoght all along that Canada possibly left a few guys at home that desrved to be there, maybe I was right, maybe not, we'll not know until 2010.

That Olympic hockey about makes me sick. Not the game I'm used to, not even the soft new stuff of the new NHL.

I don't know if it's complaisance, arrogance, apathy or what, but both team USA and Canada looked frustrated and out of their element.

European hockey is just as good, if not better than North American. Two different styles of play, but they're equally match IMHO.

Not to mention, the Europeans are used to that ice size, and teams like Finland have had the same group of guys playing together for 5-6 years now. The US and Canada just throw a bunch of stars out there, and against this level of competition, sometimes that doesn't always work.

The US team was OK, but they're aging. I would have liked to have seen some of our younger guys out there that could use their legs to spread that ice surface.
