Did you guys see that hammer head of a Havlat got 5 games for kicking Gill!....I like the guy as a hockey player but man I know that that is his 2nd kick!!!!! Gill should have KICKED HIS A$$ with his fists.

[/ QUOTE ]

Man Muff,, I really missed it then.... I know Gill went nutso behind the net, but wasn't sure why.... I really didn't see the kick,,, and the commentators never mentioned it..... confused.gifconfused.gif,, I guess we now know why Gill went after him the way he did....

What makes these guys do this stuff anyhow ??? Just nuts, to put a blackeye on your team like that... I remember when Ted Danato pulled his bonehead move a few years back.... just embarrassed the heck out of me being a Bruins fan... crazy.giffrown.gif

Re: Official Boston Bruins thread

I agree. I watched the game...all the Bruins games thus far....and I didn't see it either confused.gif. I know there was a comotion behind the net and I seen a foot go up in the air but I didn't take it as intentional nor did I see a kick. And Luke is right, they played it over and over afterwards and the commentators said nothing about it either. If he did he did but I watched the game and I didn't see it and either did the commentators. Why didn't the refs slam him then. They must of did about 2 hours of instant replay on that afterwards. If the refs knew right there that he kicked Gill, why didn't they kick him out of the game. Sonds like a crock to me confused.gif

Muff,,, I didn't pick up on it seriously... I didn't see it in the replays either.... Is a subtle kick or was it out right blatent ??? Man I need to go to the eye doctors again I see.....

Man the NHL really hammered him hard didn't they.... Here's the article.........

Ottawa's Havlat suspended for five games and forfeits $66,326.55

TORONTO (Oct. 17, 2005) - Ottawa Senators forward Martin Havlat has been suspended for five games, without pay, for a kicking incident during NHL game #73 against the Boston Bruins on October 15.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Havlat will forfeit $66,326.55. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

"One of the factors in reaching this decision is the fact that Mr. Havlat was assessed supplementary discipline on three occasions during a two-month period in 2003-04 including a two-game suspension for a kicking incident," said NHL Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell.

The incident occurred at 3:53 of the second period when Havlat was involved with Bruins' player Hal Gill. No penalty was assessed on the play.

Havlat will miss Friday's game at Tampa Bay (Oct. 21); Oct. 22 at Florida; Oct. 24 at Carolina; Oct. 27 against Montreal; and Oct. 29 at Toronto. He will be eligible to return Oct. 30 against Philadelphia.

Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

If he keeps kicking other players, he might need to dig into that fund grin.gif. Yeah Luke, I didn't see it either. I think they are making an example out of him more than anything else. But then again, he does have a history of that type of behavior. Hey, do they have soccer up there in Canada...maybe he has the two mixed up grin.gif
