MrWiggely
well in Western NY you would dress very warm and concentrate on food sources and stands of pine. Wigs
MrWiggely
Re: southern tier NY? Im not familiar with the area. If you decide to head more west, let me know we have about 70k acres of state land within 10 miles of me. Wigs
BuckNrut
Re: southern tier NY? NWVermonter, I believe you meant Italy Hill and HIGH TOR. Those two places tend to get alot of snow and you may find the state land void of deer. Further north (less hilly) you should still find deer late in the season. Consider places like Stid Hill WMA, or Honeoye WMA. I like the farm lands late in the season. Permission shouldn't be a problem. BTW, I'm taking that week off this year. Send me a PM if you are interested in hooking up. Thanks for hunting in NY. Good luck.

(that word is in webster now too) Next time you are down this way be sure to PM me. I have a friend who is going to help me get my bow up and running after Christmas and we can shoot targets somewhere. Or we can just go drool over the guns in Gander Mountain Ranger
Doc
Re: southern tier NY? Just a bit of a spellin clarification that may help someone find these places on a map: Honeyoe is actually spelled Honeoye, and Canedegua is actually spelled Canandaigua Not trying to be nit-picky, but if someone unfamiliar with the area is trying to locate these places on a map, they will have better luck if the spelling is corrected.
