toddpipkin
Algore and the Clintonistas admitted four years ago that the NRA cost the Democrats the election. This time, Kerry loses the popular vote by 3.5 to 4 million votes. Is it merely coincidence that that is almost exactly the number of members in the National Rifle Association ??? I don't think so !!!!!
johnf
Re: Coincidence ?? HARDLY !!!! hmmmmmmm It's also about the same number of evangelical Christians who didn't vote last time. Hmmmmmmmmmm It must be an NRA/Baptist consperecy

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Coincidence ?? HARDLY !!!! I think if you had a roster of Evangelicals (and other Christians who might not consider themselves such) and NRA members side by side, you'd see a lot of overlap. Also don't discount the fact that this was the first year that the Republican Party had really used a nationwide grassroots "get out the vote" program to mobilize their base. AaronS
Re: Coincidence ?? HARDLY !!!! Have you heard the Democratic woman senator from California (can't remember her name) saying that the reason the Dems lost seats and the presidency is because the Republicans twisted the truth on social issues? Give me a break. The reason the Dems lost is because their beliefs are so different from what most people believe.
ParrotHead
Re: Coincidence ?? HARDLY !!!! I don't think you can pin-point one single group and give them the preverbal "pat on the back" for W winning reelection. I think it's a combination of several groups coming out in support of the President. Religious groups did play a big part as well as gun owners. However, I think a lot more family members of soldiers fighting in the war played a hugh part. Kerry did a lot to really slam our troops in the past year, especially after voting to send them to war. I think the families of these brave men took it personal and got out on Tuesday to send Kerry a message.
