CDubWSR
Well through the help of one of my managers at work i have decided to get into waterfowl hunting. i havent ever really done much other than some pass shooting on my room mates pond. so my manager has been teaching me a lil bit about blowing duck and goose calls and today i decided to get some. For my first duck call i went with a hs specialties single reed bill collector, and for my goose call i got a tim grounds acrylic super mag. i wanted to get a double reed duck call b/c they are easier to learn with, but my manager showed me how much more variances you can put into your calling with a single as compared to a double, so i decided to take his advice and just go ahead with the single. as far as the goose call goes i know its kinda crazy for a first call, but it just sounds too good. i was planning on just getting the poly carb version of the super mag, but then i picked up the acrylic and there is just no comparison. ive got a few duck hunting places lined up, now my manager and i just need to find some time to go scout some fields for geese. he is from iowa and just recently moved here, so he doesnt know anywhere to hunt, and with me being new to the whole thing it doesnt help too much either. i know a couple farmers out in the okarche/piedmont area, but dont know if that is a good place to start looking. so if any of you fellow okies can maybe give me an idea for where to start looking, even public land, that would be great. thanks a ton guys!
