rackmaster
I have to cross a small hay field to get back to my truck at night. Well, it had several does and fawns in it tonight. I finally just had spook them off as softly as I could. My question is do any off you have a trick for getting deer to leave a field without them knowing there is a human in the area? Thanks
tedicast
Re: ? about leaving w/ out spooking deer If the field is small why can't you skirt the field, instead of going right through it?
wtnhunt
Re: ? about leaving w/ out spooking deer Have had to scare deer off to get down before. Have tried different things to attempt to make them leave. Heard that a coyote call is a good way to scare them off without educating them to your presence. Master_Chief
Re: ? about leaving w/ out spooking deer I agree with Tedicast. Skirt the field. I have gone as far as crawling out to not spook them only to have some guy stop along the road, watch them and then whistle to get 'em running. Seemed like a waste at the time but they never saw/smelled/heard me.
