MuZZyMomentZ
I have been thinking about changing up my strategy this year to include more ground work, instead of just sitting in a tree the whole time that I hunt. I have done an extensive amount of scouting and have found several areas where deer are using the thicker woods to travel to and from feeding areas. I was hoping to utilize the entire day, from morning to evening, doing the majority of the "walk and stalk" during the middle of the day when the deer arent necessarily coming into these feeding areas. I suppose my questions would be.. what tactics have folks on this site practiced and have found successful? I was thinking about rattling in several different locations as we have the acres to spread out enough that we dont hunt close too any of the stands we have set up. jbeck
Re: Aggressive Tactics for Pre-Rut Bucks Just remember, when calling of any kind is done, the deer pinpoint your location and come looking. Being on the ground at this time can be challenging. I like rattleing during the early part of the rut. also alot of doe bleats. G L

Tominator
Re: Aggressive Tactics for Pre-Rut Bucks One method on the ground that works is stalking corn on windy days. It's pretty tough hunting, but effective.
