Texan_Til_I_Die
My .02 worth. I don't care for Tasco scopes of any type. The only one I have now is on a .22 that I seldom shoot. Bushnell is a step in the right direction. If you are watching your budget, how about this. Mount the Tasco for this season and try to save enough before next year to buy something better. Weaver, Burris, Nikon, and Leupold all make some really good models that can be had for under $250. On several of my guns, I've spent considerably more on the scope that I have on the gun. RangerClay
Re: Old or New Scope Dennis, Welcome to the forums! You will love this place If it were up to me this is a no-brainer because I am found of Bushnell scopes. Get the Bushnell!!!!!!! Natchez has them at a super price. Bushnell scopes have great optics and excellent customer service if the scope should have a problem. My 2¢ Ranger
AJ
Re: Old or New Scope First off, welcome to the group. Good to have you here with us. I definately would not put that scope on a high powered rifle. Its designed for a rimfire and don't think it will last that long on a bigger gun. I would definately recommend getting a different scope. I am not against Tasco, I have 3 or 4 of them and they have given me groups that are as good as any other scope in my safe. I don't recommend getting a $29 version of a 3-9x scope. No matter who makes it its junk. Save your $ and when you get enough buy a decent quality scope. You can get decent quality scopes for under $100. Every manufacturer makes a line of optics. Just because it has Bushnell, Nikon, Leupold, Simmons, etc on it does not mean its as good as their top end scopes. A great bang for the buck is this Simmons 44 Mag for $60. wtnhunt
Re: Old or New Scope Welcome to the forums. The simmons 44 mag is a great scope for the money. Bright and clear. Might do some checking around. Some places like wal mart clearanced the 2004 model nikon buckmaster scopes in 3-9X40 for $149. Good scope for the money. snapper
Re: Old or New Scope I'm in the same boat as AJ...have Tasco's that have worked well....but would invest in better scope if money allows. BTW...didn't Bushnell buy Tasco?
