wtnhunt
Re: Faverite Beer? Used to drink beer quite a bit, almost every night, and drink alot when I did. Have not really been interested in drinking beer much anymore since right before my wife and I started dating. Do still occasionally enjoy an ice cold Miller Genuine Draft every now and then. But that is not very often.

Reloader
Re: Faverite Beer? [ QUOTE ] Never before has there been a substance on Earth that has caused as much suffering than alcohol....rapes, robberies, divorces, murders, DUI's, DUI deaths, broken homes, molestations, poverty, and so on. New [/ QUOTE ] Sorry but I can't just leave this alone. Alcohol does not CAUSE anything. Let me explain, Alcohol is a substance that induces relaxed feelings and relaxed inhibitions, it also decreases reaction time and, in large amounts, your ability to think clearly. However, the person drinking is responsable for their actions drunk or not! When we as a society allow them to blame alcohol, we are excusing them from responsability for their actions. As a counselor, I see way too many people come into my office that blame all their problems on alcohol. But in reality it is just a excuse to avoid taking their own responsability. I have worked with violent offenders reffered through the Sarpy, Douglas, and Cass counties probation system for quite a while and after getting sober for mandatory drug and alcohol screenings, they often change the actual behaviors but continue with the purpose or goals of their violence. Drunk driving deaths are the fault of the idiot who got behind the wheel. If you are gonna drink plan ahead for a designated driver or a cab, don't wait till after you are drunk to decide if you are safe to drive home. By that time they are impaired and can't make that choice possibly, but they chose to drink first. Alcohol ADDICTION can and often does cause disruptions and turmoil in relationships including divorce when the sober partner can no longer live with an alcoholic. It can also lead to poverty. Those are a combination of the addiction and the person causing the problem. Alcohol and Addiction are NOT responsable for rapes, robberies, murders, DUI's, DUI deaths, molestations, and so on, People are! See the red section... The only 100% sure way to never become an alcoholic is to never drink. That is an honorable choice and I respect anyone for it. However, when done in moderation and with propper forethought (designated drivers etc.) alcohlol can be very apropriate for those that make that choice. In fact a person who drinks on average 3 to 5 drinks a week reduces the risk of heart attack and high blood pressure and does no damage whatsoever to other systems including the liver or kidneys. Anyone who wants clarification on this please PM me!
