Illinoisbowhunter
Thats how you get it done right there, I congratulate you for going the extra mile fighting a whitetails #1 source of defense! No doubt your sightings would go up after your procedures. This year is my first year with Carbon clothing. 1) I wash my Dream Season suit, Scent lok Baseslayers and all of my hats, gloves, fanny pack etc in Scentlok Detergent. All of it gets washed(except for the carbon) weekly. The Carbon clothing gets activated in the dryer after every weeks hunt. 2) All of my hunting clothes get store in a Scentlok scent tight bag. 3) I shower before each hunt in Scent-A-Way shampoo and barsoap. I use the Scent-A-Way deoderant as well. 4) After I get out of the shower I put on a Casual Scentblocker long sleeve T-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. (If its cold enough I will put my Baseslayers on under them) 5) Once I get to my spot I get out of my truck I get my Dream Season suit out of my Scent tight bag and put that on. 6) I spray down with Carbon blast one final time before heading afield. I use rubber boots only for hunting. I usually spray some fresh earth or coon urine on them. Ive got a H.S. field bottle I use while in my stand to spray down occasionally. I refill them with the big H.S. neutrilizer jugs. 7) When returning back to the truck I change out of my Carbon suit and put it back in my scentlok bag. I put my casual Scentblocker T-Shirt and sweatpants back on and leave.
Chrud
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? I wash my clothes, even if brand new, in HS Scent-A-Way Plus Fresh Earth Laundry Detergent. Then, I use HS Scent-A-Way Plus Fresh Earth Dryer Sheets when I dry them. I have a ton of different Rubbermaid Totes. I have one for camo bibs and pants, lightweight camo jackets and shirts, insulated camo coats, a miscellaneous tote (hats, gloves, facemasks, etc.), backpacks and other vests and finally one for blaze orange. That is six total and that is how I store my camo. Then, I have one tote for traveling. I put what camo I plan on wearing in it, plus my backpack and harness and anything else I might need. I then put some HS Fresh Earth Wafters in that tote to help put a little more dirt scent on them. Before the hunt, I take a shower using HS Scent-A-Way products. Liquid soap and shampoo. The last step I take is when I get to where I'm hunting. I dress right in the field and spray down with HS Scent-A-Way Plus Fresh Earth Spray. When I get done hunting, I put everything back into my tote. I don't have any ScentBlocker clothes or anything like that yet. But, I have never been winded with my system. Tominator
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? I wash my clothes in HS scent away detergent. When I think they're getting too funky, I wash them again. Frequency depends a lot of things. Before going out I shower with scentless soap and then usually spray off with scent shield. colescott1
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? I do the HS Scentaway routine with totes and spray and zipperback as well...but thought of one step where I error... not sure it makes any difference as my sightings have also jumped exponentially since I started this routine a few years back... but do you guys have a special "hunting towel" that you dry off with after you get out of the shower? Orion_70
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? I wash everything in baking soda, use baking soda to brush my teeth, use scent free deodorant, keep my clothes in a bag or tote with pine needles and oak leaves, use scent away spray just before going in and then use a fresh earth scent wafer pinned to my cap
Smitteken
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? Wash clothes in scent killer laundry detergent. Shower in scent free soap/shampoo. Brush teeth with baking soda. Scent free deoderant. Spray every layer with H.S. Scentaway. Spray down bow, quiver, climber, backpack also. Rubber boots. LifeNRA
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? Scent killing shower, Scent-A-Away deorderant, spray all layers of clothing with Scent-A-Way Earth scent, packs, and equipment. Thats it. Clothing gets washed how ever the wife does it! I have had deer walk up to me at ten feet. I also freshen up the clothing at my stand with another shot of Scent-A-Away, just incase I am sweating too much! So far Ill stick to this. I always see deer while out. I think carbon clothing is just a money maker for someone! JMO!
Guest joeky
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? I do all the scent away things an allbut I was wondering what do you do when you get up a tree with a climber and its 75 degrees and you are sweatin like a pig? Is every thing you have done now useless or what do you do now? I hope this does not seem like a stupid question, because I have been wanting to ask it for a while. double_drop
Re: Whats your scent elimination method? Put on my scent lock base slayers on first top and bottom. Then put on my bibs and coat which are not scent lock. Although I keep all of my bow hunting clothing in a plastic bin with hs scent wafers in them. The wafers are of natural earth smell or something like that. Also have just some cabelas brand camo rubber boots with 800 grams thinsulate.
