Guest CLB
Re: Mulie Newbie Not to drive you away from here but another place where you will likely get some good info about muleys in that part of the country would be www.monstermuleys.com . This is a great place with a ton of good info but tends to lean towards the whitetail side of things. Over there every body is a muley fanatic. superguide
Re: Mulie Newbie It's pretty rugged river breaksthere and the weather can get fairly nasty but you'll love it . Mulies are awesome to hunt-a trip over to Monster Mulies might help you in field judging your buck too-they're are quite a bit different than a whitetail-hint if it looks like a yearling steer with elk horns it's a shooter. Make sure you pack along a good camera and get some pics for us.
sureshot
Re: Mulie Newbie glascow is a nice little city, when there make sure you check otu the museum on the west edge of town, and check out the bars along railway ave on the norht side, very cool history of shootouts ect,I live less than 2 hours norht of there and have spent alot of time over the years down there! The mules should be startign rut by then [usually first week of nov is pretty hot for mule deer] mule deer are deceptive when not used to seeign them just rememebr that before you shoot, they look alot bigger usually,I am not sure were you will be huntign for sure, around fort peck has some monster hills, norht east of glascow is the badlands and norht west is more rugged back country, old badland type were there is tons of dinosour finds, really big big hills so be in shape and good boots to protect from cactus and rocks! I woudl suggest talking to ranchers and sittign on a big hill in the am glassing for movement, does will prob be in feedign areas, hay fields ect so in turn the bucks will not be far behind!there are tons of mules so you should have no prob gettign a nice deer if you hold out! With the weather htere si no idea might be 70 above or might be -25, right now here we are gettign down to about 28 at night and up to 55 or 60 in the day, there have pretty close to what we do here!! BTW if you are close to the border and see a monster scare it across the border and call me, lol, I will be huntign that week for elk and mulies just norht of the border!! best of luck and welcome to realtree!!
