Guest Andrea
I bought one of these before I started getting flu shots. I used to get a bad cough that lasted all hunting season. I'm sorry......but this device does NOT work. It would NOT suppress the sound of my cough. In fact, when I would put that thing in my mouth.....I would try to cough into it and thought my head would explode. The hole that you are supposed to push all that forced air thru is so tiny. Maybe if they had one where it covered your entire mouth area...then it might work. But this is like trying to cough through a drinking straw. Anyone able to use this thing?? Guest lostiniowa
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? I am suprised i posted on here last week that I love it. I got it as a gift and was skeptical. I gave it the ultimate try with a big ol doe about 18 yards from my stand. You will hear noise but they don't. You also here yourself swallow but no one else does. sorry you have not had the success with it you wanted
Smitteken
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? I think its a gimmick. If you have to cough do it in to your coat, or muffle it with you arm.
RangerClay
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? Andrea, I got one last year after I caught a cold. I didn't like it either. In fact someone posted about these things last winter and a majority disliked it. I found that the front hole was too small and when I coughed and I though my ears would explode. I removed some of the cotton inside and that seemed to help a little. I wish you luck with yours and if you find someway to make it work better please let me know. Joe ps. had a 2 lt. bottle of RC over the weekend mmmmmm good

Chrud
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? My cousin had one. Said it pretty much made your head explode when you used it. But it looks so easy and painless to use in those commercials with the fake coughs.
wtnhunt
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? Knew it was a gimmick the first time I saw a commercial for it and laughed while my wife and I agreed some hunters will buy anything. Still cannot believe Ted Nugent endorses the silencer. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? If you really want quiet, just carry a car muffler around with you and cough into it. Heck, you can yell into one of those and nothing much will come out the other end! AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? Whatever you skeptics say, we don't want to see your "used cough silencers" in the classifieds section on here for sale!! I can see them right now next to the used turkey mouth calls!! What a deal!!! LOL!!
snapper
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? I never tried one...can see where it would restrict your cough and blow your ears out. However, I watched an ad for it...took a blow horn and blew it...very loud...held it up to a cough silencer and blew it...still could hear it, but barely! SRTMO
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? I read this yesterday and got the magnum cough muffler from H.S. It's not much different than coughing into your sleeve.

Guest Xen
Re: Ever used the \"Cough Silencer\"?? i've always just used cough drops - i prefer the chloraseptic ones, because they kind of numb your throat a little bit. also, as hard as it is to do, try to use a scarf if breathing in cold weather. another bit of advice, is pack one of those little camp stoves with you. you can drape a thin blanket or tarp around you and hover over it a little bit and breath that warm air, really helps stop coughing if you're having a fit. my dad has asthma and it'll keep him from having an asthma attack as well
