NiteRunner
I shoot Aluminums and one of my arrows hit the other taking the nock clean off and leaving a chip in the top. I was wondering if this arrow is still safe to shoot? Being that the nock covers it I would think so right? Here's a pic,
Guest tyshe17
Re: Chipped Arrow I would say it is safe...however, the arrow might be bent, or it might now fly well. As far as safety I think you are good though.
dg
Re: Chipped Arrow I wouldn't shoot it. The alum may hold up. But the shaft is supposed to match the nock. If it doesn't, it may apply internal forces to the plastic nock causing it to break upon release and causing a dry fire or worse, shaft through the eye or arm. tedicast
Re: Chipped Arrow Any arrow that shows any damage whatsoever joins all the other damaged arrows on a shelf. Better safe than sorry.

shockwave
Re: Chipped Arrow Pitch it ! for the cost of a new arrow the risks aren`t worth it, the cost if you use the arrow and the nock breaks ? a trip the emergency room, an arrow through the arm, could ruin your day, even your season.. Griz
Re: Chipped Arrow Consider that arrow toast... In a professional stand point... Don't shoot it...It's not worth the risk...
