iabow
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Hay it worked, cool. Coming home last night seen a big 8 with a doe 20 yds from the road, he wouldn't leave her either. He wasn't all that wide just past his ears but tine length was long. Maybe 10 inches on the G2, sure was pretty in the headlights. Looks like aot of the action might take place at night . So here is my small buck but at lest I'm eating good.Sorry for the pic. I should have know not to let my dad take it.
iabow
Re: The Wallhangers (14) How's every one doing so far? I'm going to take my 10 year old nephew out tonight in a city park, hopefully we see or get one. Going to have to set up a makeshift ground blind in a blow down. Good hunting. borch
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Well, I start tomorrow. Hopefully the big one works itself my way. It's gotta be a very nice vbuck or I'll eat my tag this year. My kids will take care of putting venision in the freezer so none of that pressure for me this year. Good Luck everyone! Smitteken
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Ok fellas. In about 6 hours my vacation begins. I'm off until Nov 21. Its gonna be so sweet. I just hope we get some cooler temps. I check in when I kill the Hawg I've been dreaming about since June. Ha ha. Good luck to all. If I don't kill another one soon I'll officially enter my doe into the contest, that way we don't look like slackers.

borch
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Well the first weekend was very uneventful. I saw three deer with one 8 pointer I passed on. Too warm with most of the deer activity occuring late at night. Here's hoping for cooler temps.
Guest finnlander
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Hey guys, My season is just getting started. Saw a huge ten on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately it while I was eating breakfast getting ready for work. This dude was a good one for sure. I too am heading to the the hunting camp in the UP of Michigan on Saturday. We will be there for a week. The activity here at home is picking up. I'll give it a go a few times before Saturday. Good Luck to all. I have passed up 4 different small bucks so far. Hope I don't regret it.
iabow
Re: The Wallhangers (14) I have only been able to get out a couple times lately. The other day I guestimated the yardage wrong on a nice doe and missed. She had a small buck by her showing no interest. I certainly tore that leaf up though, know any good recipes. Well I think I got my nephew hooked, he is 10, and keeps telling me the days he can go again. I am going to take him with to check out some new timber. My grandma was at the hospital talking to some guy about hunting when another lady said that she wanted someone to come out to her farm and shoot some turkeys, cause they are so thick. My grandma got her address and number, I called her and received permission. Going to have to take grams out to dinner or something. I heard it's about to turn colder here shortly, so maybe that will help things out. I know alot of geese have been coming down. Well guys good hunting, hope you get a monster. kooter
Re: The Wallhangers (14) man i messed up big time this sunday. I shot at and hit a 150 class buck and did not kill it. I am sick over this. i followed blood for 200 yards and then jumped him. he ran off with no problems. I hope he is ok and i can get a nother crack at him. He was the biggest deer I have ever shot at. iabow
Re: The Wallhangers (14) I know how that feels. How much time was it from the shot to jumping him? They are a hardy animal and can survive alot. Hopefully he'll stroll by you again, keep your spirits up and stay after it, I've seen it done before. kooter
Re: The Wallhangers (14) I shot at him at 6:30 right at legal shooting time. I walked to the spot of the shot about 15 minutes later and did not see him so I went back to my blind. At 9 I went back and walked into the woods and found some blood and followed it. It was probably 9:30 when he ran by my father in law. I would guess he is ok. Hopefully he will come back this weekend. Temps are suppose to be really cold finally. iabow
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Well I harvested a little button buck barely had any nubs at 4:30 today in the city parks deer management program(suppose to reduce the deer herd). Not the biggest deer but he'll be tender that's for sure. Shot him at 25 yds and he fell at 40 from the tree. Cut the heart almost in two, perfect heart shot. Man I love being in the tree when there's a little snow on the ground and it's cold. Things are so crisp and clean, really peaceful, less people out and can see alot better. Just realized I have about two weeks before my first time hunting shotgun season begins, going with my uncle and a couple of his buddies that invited me, looking forward to it. Well good hunting guys, go get him kooter.
kooter
Re: The Wallhangers (14) my father in law went on thursday morning and shot a little doe. But he said after he shot he saw two bucks run off and one he thought was the same deer that I shot at. So hopefully he will come back on saturday
Guest finnlander
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Hey guys. I just got back from a week in northern Michigan. Shot a six or seven pointer on Nov 15th. I still have to put a tape on one brow tine to see if I can stretch out another point for us. Season was slow in the UP of Michigan. According to the bridge count the numbers were down 34% for the second straght year. Seems like a pathetic trend to me. I still have until the end of December to upgrade in points. But I'm real proud of my buck. I'll get some pics up real soon. My dad has the pics on 35mm as I fogot my dang camera. Good luck
kooter
Re: The Wallhangers (14) well my rifle season ended up with no deer for me. I still get to bowhunt and then in december we have a doe only season so I should be able to add 5 points atleast. Hopefully everyone is having fun and hopefully shooting some deer
iabow
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Happy Birthday kooter! Congrats on the deer finnlander, any deer harvested legally is a trophy in my book. Them chops are tasteing mighty fine, nothing like venison . borch
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Well my season is over without my pulling the trigger. I saw all sorts of big bucks with a huge nontypical that was at least 14 points. However these bucks chose to run out in front of me while I was driving my truck or car. I almost hit three in the past week. But while hunting I only saw a small basket 8 pointer and several does. I was lookign for the big buck that never showed. Although the kids shot a couple of does for the freezer. That's what makes the season a success for me anyways. Good Luck on your seasons! LifeNRA
Re: The Wallhangers (14) Hey all! I am here yet! Took a break today from not seeing any deer! I saw deer during the archery season, but nothing during our rilfe season. Kind of disgusted at this year so far. I believe our HR went too far. I should be seeing deer in this area. My father found a dead buck with its antlers cut off. Probably poached. Ill be back out on Friday and Saturday hunting hard! I was out for the first three days of our rifle season from sun-up to sun-down and didnt see a deer. We always seen deer in this mountain, dont know what to say! Just checking in! Hopefully I will connect on another this year and get pics this time!!!!! I still have an antlerless season in 2 weeks that Ican gun hunt again but for now it is back to my first love ARCHERY
