Re: Need Responses fast please

I'm willing to bet that you hit her high. Sometimes, the blood trail on a high hit isn't all that good.

I'm with Jason, I'd bet the thrashing you heard was her expiring.

You did the right thing without knowing where you hit her by walking out. I'd say you've left her long enough and now would be an OK time to sneak back in there and trail her up.

Good luck, bud.

Typically a lung shot will produce lighter colored blood (pinkish) any many times will have bubbles visible. Take a good sniff of your arrow. If you jerk back - it wasn't a lung.

For future hunts. Consider light colored (flourescent) fletching, nocks and maybe even some arrow wraps. They really help you follow your arrow in flight. Good Luck!

Go get her. You did the right thing in backing out. The old saying "when in doubt, back out".

You probably hit her high. If so, she'll bleed mostly internally. I'll bet you'll find blood 30 to 40 yards from where you shot her. Some times it just takes a little distance for the blood to get flowing.

I'd bet she's laying less than 125 yards from where you shot her.

Yep, I agree with these guys first thing I would do is go check the area where you heard the thrashing. If you don't find her come back to the POI and start looking for blood and the direction she went. Another good thing to do it take and arrow with a field point on it and as soon as she runs off shoot that arrow into the ground where she was standing when you shot her.

Re: Need Responses fast please

Bow Hunter Derek has hit the nail on the head, in my opinion.

If you don't find that blood trail near where she was shot, keep making wider circles.

A lot of high shots take out vitals but don't start bleeding out until the chest cavity fills from the internal bleeding.

My best guess is that you will find it within 100 yards.

Good Luck, and keep us posted.
