Mach1
My brother sent me an email about this and I saw it on the Mathews forum. http://forums.mathewsinc.com/bulletinboards/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20058 [ QUOTE ] I went to the archery shop in Bloomington, IL today to get some more scent. There was a picture on the counter of a monster that a guy killed near Kappa, IL, just north of Bloomington. I wish I had a pic to post here for you guys and gals to see. They said it was a 28 pointer that field dressed at 225 lbs. They said they expect it to score in the 220's.. Could be Illinois new #1 (time will tell). This deer had it all, even had a nice back drop tine off of it's right side that swelled on the tip. That was one impressive deer!!!!! Keep your eyes open. I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the cover of North American Whitetail Magazine soon! [/ QUOTE ] Also found this on the Buckmasters forums. http://www.buckmasters.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1594 http://www.buckmasters.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=4 [ QUOTE ] My dad, who also works at the local pro shop, informed me tonight that the man who killed the large 28-point buck in Kappa, Illinois is a customer of our shop. He is a police officer for the town of Bloomington, IL and had just recently bought the land the deer was killed on. The land sits just outside of the Matawan Tall-Grass Prairie, and close to the boundary line of Lake Bloomington (both of which are pieces of land that can't be hunted). The deer was taken with a Mathew's LX, and will be available for viewing at next years Deer and Turkey Classic in Bloomington, IL at the Interstate Center. [/ QUOTE ] Anybody else heard about this??? Guest adowns99
Re: Possible IL record taken?? i believe it was a crossbow kill from fulton county. also what abot the non-typical archery kill from mason county a couple of years ago? anybody have a picture of him? i hunt 3 miles down the road from where he was killed. you talk about being pumped! we have seen a 8 pointer that will go 170" and a 10 that is bigger than that. no guesses on measurements, but i'll post the pics when he's on the ground.
