Do you love your hoyt?

I've shot the Switchback and really love it, but I also love any kind of Hoyt. They seem more smoother than the Mathews bows.

I'm working my money up to buy me a VTEC and or a XTEC.... Very smooth bad boys. I just can't wait to get the Axis Arrows for next year and put my muzzy Phantoms... Looking forward to this year and more into next.

Tell me about those Hoyt Bows! grin.gif

Re: Do you love your hoyt?

Yes I do! I have the lower line model, the Ultramag, BUT it suits me just fine. It might be the cheaper model, but it still kills them just as dead. I haven't even had mine a year yet and I just don't see why I didn't make the switch sooner. I have never shot a Mathews bow so I can't say how they compare, but I'm sure they are pretty close.

Not if everybody keeps there nose clean........

Chrud said nothing wrong in his original post, but some may have interpretted it that way.....I figured it was better to edit it than to have somebody go off halfcocked.....

Now back to the original subject........

I too am a Mathews shooter, but have had several hoyts, and actually wouldn't mind having and xtec in my stable.....one thing is for sure, nothing fits a guys hand like a Hoyt grip......best on the market as far as I'm concerned......wish Mathews would go to something similar.....

Re: Do you love your hoyt?

I had a Hoyt Magnatec, then went on to test out other bows on the market over the next few years.......well this year I went ahead and bought a Hoyt Vtec and I'm never leaving Hoyt again. The best bow on the market IMO.........and it did a heck of a job on my deer last week.

Yes, I love my Hoyt!!!!

Re: Do you love your hoyt?

I too have been using Hoyt bow since the early 80's. What is you guys like about the Axis arrows? I've been shooting ACC's for several years now, but I'm not sure I want to mortgage my house to buy another dozen once these are gone. Thinking of trying the Axis. They're a little cheaper aren't they?

Re: Do you love your hoyt?

I have an Xtec and absolutely love it. The only think I dont like is the let off point in the draw cycle. On my old 1 cam it let off early in the cycle and allowed me to draw a much heavier draw weight, my XTEC let off is near the end of the cycle and a little harder for me to draw with minimal movement. If I was a stronger guy I no doubt would go with the cam and half hoyt. I do love it and it shoots quiet and smooth. VERY SMOOTH. Slayed a few deer with it too.

You can get Gold Tip Pro Hunters, which are +/-0.001" and +/-0.5 grains (and they can't bend) for about $75 a dozen. ACC's are +/-0.003" and +/-0.5" plus they can bend. And they are well over $100 a dozen.

Now, you want the Axis? +/-0.005" and +/-2.0 grains for about $75 or $80 a dozen? You can get the GT that is a TON better for less or the same price. You'll get much better arrow flight with the tight tolerance arrows. Hard to believe they are that much cheaper than ACC's, yet have better tolerances. Something else interesting is the "+/-" of the tolerances. At worst, a GT Pro Hunter will vary by 0.002" and 1 grain. Pretty consistent. The Axis could vary by 0.010" and 4 grains. How consistent can that be?

I've never had such an easy time with broadheads as I have this year with GT Pro Hunters. I credit a lot of that to the arrow's super tight tolerances. wink.gif

**This is NOT a bash. Just stating why I think you can do much better than the Axis for the money.** wink.gif
