Norm Sauceman
I guess you all read about the wallet my Dad found by now in the post "Kudos for Dad". My parents live about a mile by way of a crow fly to a lake. Center Hill Lake to be exact. They live close to the Dam. Dad loves to walk around the lake when the power company is generating and the lake level falls a lot. I was talking to him today and he told me of another find a day or so after he found the wallet. He said he had been walking for a couple of hours and saw a box in the rocks. He picked it up and opened the box. Inside the box was something heavy. He said it weighed about 15 pounds. He opened the bubble wrap (the rreason it floated, I guess) and inside was a fossilized dinosaur leg bone that was about a foot and a half long. He said he had never seen anything like it except for in museums. He remembered the local natural history museum that was part of the findings when they were making the lake (Center Hill) and how it was ransacked a few years when they were going to move the visitors center. He called the local Park Ranger and he said it was definately a LARGE dinosaur bone but he could not tell if it was the one from the robbery. There is going to be a state geologists/anthropoligists come to his house to examine it and try to trace the registration numbers. They said if it was not one of theirs that he could keep it.. Is that NOT COOL!!!

Tominator
Re: Dad and his strange findings That is cool Norm. I like doing that kind of stuff. Used to go beach combing after a good north or northwest blow on Lake Erie. Commonly found all kinds of Hot-n-Tots, Rapalas, and lots of other crankbaits. Found all kinds of other stuff too. Can't mention them here though.
