Sportsmansguide.com?

I dont believe I have ever received a catalog from them but got one last night. Man they sure have some cheap deals on everything from hunting stuff to home furnishings!

Has anyone ever ordered anything from them? Is their quality cheaper or is it as quality as they advertise? They carry major commercial brands at a lot cheaper price (Browning, Rocky, Dr. Martens, BSA, Tasco, etc.).

A lot of the stuff in their catalog is less then half what I can find it around here, literally....

Re: Sportsmansguide.com?

Jeramie, I have gotten their catalog and have ordered from them and it is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP stuff!

If you order the name brand, I guess it is OK, but I am wondering if maybe it is all discountinued or rejected items. I don't know for sure.

I have shopped with them on and off over the years. The web page has a lot more stuff and better deals. I won't order items like scopes because most of them are reconditioned. I have ordered little things and Browning clothing. Don't get excited if something is $2 cheaper than Cabelas because S.G. shipping is a lot higher than most. I like their stuff for the most part.

Re: Sportsmansguide.com?

I've never ordered from their catalogs. They have a store on sight at their headquarters and warehouse. Living close enough, I've gone to the store a few times. It's not the highest quality stuff in the land, but it is functional. The quality is not always the best, but the price is always right. I bought a pair of bdu style pants in the original DUcks Unlimited camo pattern and only paid $4.00 and they've lasted several years now. The deals in store are even better pricewise than what you can get through their catalogs.

Think of them more as a "surplus" style store and you'll be happy with what you get. A lot of close-out and factory-seconds kind of stuff.

I've ordered several items, with no problems. But on Brands I've never heard of I ask the guys in the realtree forums, they steer me right.

Re: Sportsmansguide.com?

I've bought from them before and would again. Like others have said, they have a lot of surplus-type stuff. A lot of that isn't bad either--but their name-brand stuff is really good.

What really impressed me was their customer service. I ordered a parka from them and paid only like $90....when I got it, I realized the waterproofing made it kind of loud. (Since I was new to hunting at the time, it was my mistake.) I called to exchange it and they were great to work with.

One of the best bets is to check out their website every week. They update it with different stuff all the time and there are always one or two things on there that are awesome.
