wtnhunt
Last two rolls we have gotten on our stealth have had the last several pics taken of nothing. All these are being taken in the middle of the day. Have had it for over a year and never had any problems with false triggers with the cam where it is at before now. It is facing almost due North and these false triggers are apparently occuring on calm clear days around noon. Have had mud on the face of the cam several times around the photocell where the deer have checked out the camera and am thinking maybe it is dirty or damaged? Any ideas anyone . wishinone
Re: New problem I have started to get several pictures per roll of nothing and was banging my head trying to figure it out. I set up a cam on a trail that lead to my back yard and saw deer several times rush by the camera before the camera's flash went off. I guess some of them don't like their picture taken, also squirrels climb the camera body and are off the camera before it takes a picture. Being during the day you are getting hits, I think the squirrels are your problem.
bowhtr1
Re: New problem I thought I had some flase pics when I found 46 pics of my food plot and nothing in it. On pic 45 I saw what looked like a butterfly wing over part of the lens. On pic number 46 I have the culprit in flight. If I would not have seen pic 45 and 46 I would have been trying to figure out what is wrong. I will try and post the link to the pic here. http://community.webshots.com/photo/181147904/211227734kFsIaA
wtnhunt
Re: New problem Think I figured it out maybe. It is either turkeys at the edge of the plot just out of the field of view of the camera but inside the photocells detection or it is water warming in the minerals. Really think it is the water in the minerals warming up in the sun and maybe the wind moving it just enough, causing a reflection or something. Swamphunter
Re: New problem I think the trees swaying could cause it for sure. Maybe on calm days even a slight breeze. What about falling leaves??
bowhtr1
Re: New problem I have the senstivity all the way up. The butterfly was sitting on the front of the came fanning his wings and I had a 10 second delay so I had it go off each time.
wtnhunt
Re: New problem [ QUOTE ] Just for thought - your camera isn't facing any cedars is it? For some reason cedars can trigger some cameras if the sun is hitting the trees just right and the wind is making them sway. [/ QUOTE ] Nope, no cedars close to it and these appear to be a fairly calm day. The camera is facing just about north. Really am ready to replace the film camera with a digital.
