superguide
I built a stand last year on the edge of a pasture I've watched bucks cross there for years-they walk down a brushy fenceline but rather then keep going straight into the bush they jump a fence and angle across a wide open hillside then enter bush right by this stand. All the time I was building it I kept thinking no deer will walk by thgis thing-well first day I hunted it last year had 3-130 class bucks within 5 yards of me. Well Ty told me he saw 6 bucks cross there the other day-this A'M I was still hunting in the bush and came out just north of this hill where the truck was parked-hopped in and thought I'd drive up on top for a look-drove right into 2 bucks just crossing by that stand. Parked and got out-sure enough was a 3rd buck walking down that fenceline-I watched him jump that fence and walk right by me themn pass under that treestand-a nice 135ish buck. I can't for the life of me figure out why they just don't keep going down that fenceline and straight into my pasture. If you could see it you'd never believe what they do-I guess I'll have to hunt that stand again but you right out in the open and all the time your thinking -no way a buck will come here but they do lol. VTbowman
Re: Can\'t Believe It Stand My big question is WHY have you NOT been in that stand already?!?!?! Obviously you had it in your brain, on at least one day, that it was a great area or the stand would of never been put up! LOL Settle down and hunt the stand, then haul out the big rack deer you have flowing to your stand site.
superguide
Re: Can\'t Believe It Stand Ohhh VT you obviously haven't hunted in Saskatchewan that's just one of many good stands I've got-it's just in such an improbable place that it's hard to picture a buck going there-I usually build stands for friends to hunt in but myself I can hunt like a coyote pretty much on the move. Tominator
Re: Can\'t Believe It Stand that's funny. i've had buddies put me in a stand for the first time, and i'll look around and say "there's no way i'm seeing deer. those guys are messin' with me." then, lo and behold i'll see deer exactly where they say i'll see them. i can remember one place my buddy put me and i thought it was a crappy spot, and i ended up seeing 18 deer that day.
