toddpipkin
All bucks rub their antlers and foreheads, a larger rack will make more noise than a smaller one. I'd hunt there again. You may not get to actually see the rubbing behavior, but you are definitely on his travel corridor.
Tony
Re: Hearing things? i have heard this and seen this many times. YB14 said it best you should have went over and checked to see if there was a fresh rub somewhere close by. the sound on a quiet morning can carry for a ways but i would guess that he was close. surely ou heard him walk away after the rubbing sound ended . if you didnt hear him walk away or there arent any fresh rubs around then who knows what it was ? maybe it was a raccoon wiping his butt on some tree bark. if you find some raccoon poop on a tree close by dont touch it , it will make good cover scent ! hahaha LOL. ( im sorry). just couldnt resist. good hunting Tony [ 10-21-2002, 09:19 PM: Message edited by: Tony ]
Wisconsinboy
Re: Hearing things? it is hard to tell, yesterday mourning i went out hunting and i heard two buck fighting. i know that is what it was. i heard them come together and tickle a little bit and then i heard a bunch of leaves and stuff flying around and it happened about 4 times. i never did see the deer though.
