College A.P. Polls

There is absolutely NO WAY that USC should still be #1 over Texas after barely escaping from Notre Dame with a cheap win.........That's right I said CHEAP.

Bush shoved Leinart across the line and in College ball that's illegal.

What do y'all think. My opinion is that the folks involved with the polls are to scared to call it the way it should be just because USC is on a winning streak.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!

And FSU shouldn't have fallen THAT far down the line EITHER!!! tongue.giftongue.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif ( Just kidding....I'm surprised they're still IN the dang polls after that disgusting display. mad.gif

Polls are stupid. Always thought there should be play- offs too instead of a thousand different bowl games.

Re: College A.P. Polls

i thin kthey should be #1...they won the national title last year and a share of it the year before and haven't lost ion 20 somethin games...until someone beats them i think they deserve to be at the top of the rankings....a win is a win.....no matter how it is done...the officials didn't see or call that penalty...its not USCs fault...its the refs......i like the polls....the only thing i don't like is the way they do the championship game....i think the top 4 teams in the BCS standings should have a playoff (1 vs. 4 at #4's home field and 2 vs. 3 at 3s home field) before the bowl games start..and the winners of each game play in the national championship bowl...and the 2 losers play in another BCS bowl and keep the other bowls games....

A win is a win my friend. I think they deserve to be up top until someone beats them. Which hasnt happened in a long time.

Sure USC didnt win in great passion, but they still won.

(I wanted Notre Dame to kick their butts, but oh well)

Folks, wins are only a psrt of rankings for teams. The rest of the equation is how well the teams play and how close the margin of victory is.........not to mention turn-over ratios and such. I know they're a good team, but with the system set as it is, there's NO way they should be #1.

[/ QUOTE ]You want to talk margin of victory, here's there games previous to the ND game check this out...

#1- 63-17 win

#2- 70-17 win

#3- 45-13 win

#4- 38-28 win

#5- 42-21 win

[/ QUOTE ]

You ought to put the name of the team they played next to each score. Numbers don't mean a thing if they are playing a second or third rate team.

UT has a couple of high scoring games also, but they are against smaller colleges that don't really show anything. The games against the ranked or generally strong teams shows a lot more about a team.

Re: College A.P. Polls

to be honest i think the polls and the ranking should not exist until half way thru the season or when they come to their last 2 to 3 games and only have one poll not a bcs then coaches poll and the writers poll. there should be one poll and that should be the end of it and i think it should be people who have no ties tot he different teams and go y strength of schedule and wins and then have the poll come out with more than one or two games but more like the whole season or in this case if there are 12 games and they have to all be 12 games or 11 games or 10 games. once everythign is in at the end of the season which should end with in 2 weeks of all other schools then the final polls will come out and then the top which ever will be invited to play like a of 25 witht he top choice getting a bye the first week then have the national title game for the two who finihs out of the top 25 teams and the winner is one with no losses

Re: College A.P. Polls

To start off I was devastated when ND lost to USC. I'm a die hard Irish fan and was on my toes the whole game. If there was one game that I would have loved to see USC lose that would have been it. HOWEVER USC is undefeated in the last 22 games, national champs, heisman trophy winning quarterback and possibly the heisman winning running back. Their offense dominates and defense devastates. USC should be in the #1 spot. I got a great idea lets make USC and Texas play more 10 games, that should end the streaks. grin.gif

Re: College A.P. Polls

usc does not play anyone worth a crap. Put them in the SEC OR BIG 10 and see how good they are after playing tough teams week in and week out. i will admit it that they are good, but when you only play one decent team every 3 or 4 weeks you do not banged up and as tired so it makes it easier for them. i will say they could beat anyone in the nation but it is a consitstantly tough schedule that would beat them and that is something they do not do.(N.D., UCLA which is a suprise in its own right, maybe cal) and that is it. i would take that schedule any year.
