Guest MCDillinois
Last year I bought the Thompson Center Encore Muzzleloader in Realtree HD 50 cal. I just ordered the 20 fully rifled slugger barrel for it today and it should be here by friday. I am a 20 gauge nut when it comes to deer hunting. I was wondering if anyone else here uses the TC Encore with the Slugger barrel and if so, how do you like it??
tedicast
Re: TC Encore...... I have a 12 gauge. This will be my first seasosn hunting with it. The only downfall for me is that it has a lot more felt recoil than my Rem 870's. I love the way the gun feels. It has a 24" barrel, and is about 3 " shorter than my 870's with 21" barrels. I can't wait to hunt with it this year.
Guest Leadbuck
Re: TC Encore...... I also ordered a 12 ga. rifled barrel for my encore. Can anyone give me some input on scopes. I am looking at a nikon 4x40 ucc. Is this a good choice for shooting sabots. Some say that this scope is not made for the heavy recoil of a shot gun. johnf
Re: TC Encore...... That's alot of recoil for a cheap scope, but I would guess that nikon should take the punishment.
AJ
Re: TC Encore...... The 4x40 UCC Monarch will be a very good choice for a slug gun. The Monarch is a high quality scope and since it is a fixed 4x it is lighter than the variables. It has less to break and should stand up to recoil just fine.
