Grunt Call 101

Thought I'd share this with you all. Take your favorite grunt call and take off the tube part. If you have the true talker then I wouldn't take the tube off.

Use the hard part of the grunt call. I'm sure all of us hunters has heard a buck chasing a doe in the woods. When you grunt into the call without the tube it sounds like a buck chasing a doe. I usually will put the o-ring on Tending buck or Dominate Buck, whatever it says on your type of call.

Happy Hunting

Re: Grunt Call 101

Can do that without removing the mouthpiece on most calls by simply making a series of quick short shallow grunts, I also like to slowly turn and cup the end of the call when doing this type of calling. During the rut, imitating a buck following a doe can make for some explosive action.

Re: Grunt Call 101

Then only deer I ever called in was last year during the rifle season. I seen a doe and gave her a fawn bleet. She threw her nose to the ground and frantically tried to find this fawns scent, all along she was bleeting as well. Never seen anything like this before. After about a two minutes of walking back and forth, she started to go up the mountain. I did it again and she started looking once more. Then she got within 25 yards of me and spotted me sitting there. I was impressed! I was using the Knight & Hale Translator.
