Chicago_Hunter
Anyone have any idea of which will be the better weekend to hunt in Northwest IL, this weekend or next weekend. I called the DNR and they said the bucks that are coming in to be checked have swollen necks. Is the rut on yet in ILL? Please let me know right away, it will determine if I take off work tommorrow or not. Thanks Matt
Guest Finn
Re: Illinois Rut Question You'd rather be early than late. They're running in northern Wis right now. Heck, take em both off!
Chicago_Hunter
Re: Illinois Rut Question Thanks Finn, I'll probably hunt this weekend and next. I am planning on hunting WI for rifle this year. We have a lease in Coloma. Not sure if it is earn a buck or not.
Guest Finn
Re: Illinois Rut Question Good luck on your hunts. Looks like it depends on where you are in Coloma. If you're East of 51 and South of 21(zone 67a), that's Earn a buck. Otherwise, it's just a T-zone West of 51 and north of 21. http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/wildlife/regs/Deer04DMU.pdf

I would wait until ext week, the bucks are running does here but it is still slow, by nexted weekend they should really be tearing around

Mach1
Re: Illinois Rut Question I hunt over near the IN border and deer in our hunting area show no signs of rutting activity. I'm hoping they are when I go home this weekend to hunt.

Mach1
Re: Illinois Rut Question BEEF I'm in Clark Co. I go to school at SIUE and only get to hunt weekends. I'm hoping it kicks in late this week so I can get a chance at a big one before shotgun season comes in. What part of Clark do you hunt in?
