FSU_Seminole
October 8th I planted some Buck Forage Oats, clover, chicory & brassicas. My BFO plot is 30 yards x 80 yards & on each end of the plot I strip planted the clover chicory & brassica mixed together. In just a week & a half my oats are already & inch out of the ground with some rainfall & the clover is looking great to. The brassica & chicory will start to grow a little later this fall but I really don't expect the deer to hit the chicory & brassica until late December on into Jan Feb & March. Here are some pics I thought you guys may be interested. North to South view of my plot south to north view, about 100 yards behind those pines is a major intersection of 4 or 5 trails coming out of the swamp from different directions. Thats where bucks stage before they come out Close up of the oats clover on the north end clover again on the far left near the woods Here's a major trail leading right into the plot Here are 2 of 4 real scrapes that have been made about 30 yards apart since the oats sprouted. I hung a scent wick over both & their continually being used. Here's a different trail on the same property about 300 yards away leading into a cut corn field. About a month ago I cleared a bare spot & poured 1 gallon of that new attractant Cumere & the deer pawed this impression in the ground. I'll defenitely be buying some more. I think if this darn hot weather ever goes away I'll take a nice buck this fall. Tomorrow its going to hit 90 but if we get some cooler weather I just may hit the jackpot. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!! FSU_Seminole
Re: Food Plot Pics & Other Pics Thanks guys!!!!!!!! Todd, that soil is not really sandy it just dries pretty quickly because that field is slightly angling at a slope & a lot of the rain fall runs off into the woods. Yeah you're right I want some of the rain from the hurricane but none of the wind. That & some cooler weather.
