Hillbilly
I went hunting this morning. Got into the stand a little later than I wated to. I got there at 6:30am.... I was hunting a ridge that funnels into a bottom where a lot of akerns are still falling. At 8:30 a lone doe and two small spikes came walking my way. Knowing there is a good buck on this ridge, I pass on the bucks. I hold out for the doe. I pull back my PSE Fitzgerald and get ready to let it fly, when all of a sudden a tree about 100 yards fell down crashing. This made the deer go nuts, All three of the deer took off back up the ridge and into the thicket. A Missed Oppurtunity. Won't be able to go back out tonight, but Saturday will be hunting in the river bottoms where my uncles farm at. Have a good day!

Guest lostiniowa
Re: Missed Oppurtunity. I had that kind of story. I had 2 doe's about 20yrd waitning on a perfect shot, then all of the sudden they backed into each other and they freiked. they ran about 40 yards in different directions. IT did make me kaugh though

c_lou
Re: Missed Oppurtunity. [ QUOTE ] Did you check on JB to make sure he was OK??? [/ QUOTE ] Now that's funny right there. I have had that happen to me a few times. Never had deer around, but it makes one big ruckus.
Hillbilly
Re: Missed Oppurtunity. After it all happened, I kind of started to think to myself, those spikes had nothing to do with the doe. They stayed away from her the whole time. In the past that told me a bigger buck might have been around. But with the tree falling I bet he's in Ohio now!

Hillbilly
Re: Missed Oppurtunity. [ QUOTE ] So when the tree fell, did it make a noise? [/ QUOTE ] Ohhh Yeah!!! Did it ever. It was 100yrds away from my stand and the deer. I didn't know what it was at first, but after the deer bolted, I guess it had to be a tree.
