Guest Xen
ok, so my dad has had a browning BAR 7mm mag for at least 40 years. he doesn't remember what year he bought it. anyway, i need a new mag for it, but nowhere on the rifle does it actually say "MARK 1", which seems to be the only mags i can find for a browning rifle made before 1993. my dad claims that it is a belgium made browning. does this change anything in regards to the mag used? AJ
Re: Rifle Mag Help Needed The Mark I is the descriptor used for the original designed BAR rifles that were made from 1967 - 1993. On the 25th aniversary of the gun, it was slightly redesigned. This newer version is the Mark II. It makes no difference if it was Belgium. Your gun will be close to 40 years old. You can look at the serial number and the last 2 to 3 digits will tell you what year it was made. The number after the M will say what year it is from. M7 is 1967 M8 is 1968 M69 is 1969 M70 - M76 is 1970 through 1976 If it has RT in the serial number, its newer than 1976.
