tonybenning
SHOULD ALL PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING FOR DEER MANAGEMENT EVERY YEAR .DO YOU THINK THEY COULD USE TAG MONEY FOR THE PARKS KEEP UP.
dogdoc
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING i guess it would just depend on the tourist/visitor population of each individual park. It's hard for cities/states to allow hunting in parks due to the pleasure people get from seeing deer. Animal rights activist go crazy when cities open up bowhunting in parks and usually the city officials give in to the activist. However---if the parks can be hunted safely I would be all for controlling the growing population with bowhunters. todd

TreeStandBowHunter
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING I know most State Parks in PA allow at least bow hunting!
VermontHunter
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING I would definately like to see bowhunting in these parks, instead of hiring so called snipers to do a job that bowhunters locally could take care of.....JMHO
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING A bunch of the state parks in Texas are open to deer hunting with various weapons. Depending on conditions, they sometimes close the parks to everyone who isn't hunting.
VtBowhunter
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING Here in Vermont, our parks open to hunters after Oct. 15th when the parks close for the season. Works extremely well for us......in fact I can't remember ever seeing deer in the camping areas while I was camping, but I know they're there. [/ QUOTE ] That's very true, but I'd take a dead deer with a arrow in it, than a bloody deer from a gunshot anyday. Not ribbing anyone who gun hunts. dogdoc
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING I primarily was referring to the safety of the park visitors. I would think closing the park for a month or so for bowhunters to do their job then opening it back up to the public would be a great idea. todd
VtBowhunter
Re: SHOULD PARKS ALLOW BOW HUNTING That would be nice, Todd, but how many states do you know of that will close their facilities and lose money for a month so deer can be hunted, lol. It's easier up here in the Northeast where parks close during the season anyway, and the land opens to hunting.
