LifeNRA
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables I believe the DVD that came with mine said the tensil strength is 8000 pounds! If your worring about them breaking, I dont think you should be! Even if the rubber coating starts to come off their fine! Now if they are splitting or the strands are breaking apart, you should not use the stand until you get new ones! Always check your cables! JimT
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables They are plenty rugged for sure. The rubber coating is wearing on mine now though...So I will be keeping an eye on them.
Guest TheNumber1Young1
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables My friend has one, and the rubber is wearing off on the cable, but it still works great, they are really rugged stands. Guest grunt0331
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables I've had the same cables on my Viper for about 5 years. Great stands, best climbers on the market in my opinion.
LifeNRA
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables Just because the rubber is coming off the cable does not mean you need new ones! They have re-placement covers for the cables. You only need to re-place the cables if they are breaking apart!
Tominator
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables If it's rated for 300#, I think you're OK.
beagleboy
Re: Question about Summit climber/cables Had my viper for approx 5 years. Rubber wore out but the cables are still intact. Stand climber in my book. Think they make stirrups so you don't have to bend down and pull up the boot straps.
