WaCoyote
Wanted to post this pic cause I'm sure it'll help somebody. I hunt alone quite a bit so when I tag out it can be hard to load up a large deer by myself, also I hunt treeless farm country where there is nowhere to hang a deer for skinning. I built this a few years back and it has helped tremendously. All you do is plug it in to you're hitch and hoist the deer up. You can raise / lower the deer so your never bending over while skinning and it makes loading a deer very easy. I made mine two parts that come apart when not in use I just throw it in the bed. WaCoyote
Re: Great Skinning/loading aid. don't really have plans, I could take some measurements. But any experienced welder could easily "wing " this hoist. They do have one listed in cabellas, but you can build your own for about half the price. hobie
Re: Great Skinning/loading aid. That is a great idea If I was you I would patent it before someone makes a million on your idea
mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Great Skinning/loading aid. I have seen this exact product in a Cabelas mag. Looks like you might have a better design
tedicast
Re: Great Skinning/loading aid. Very ingenious. I just commented on it in the post about your deer. I hadn't seen this post yet. Congrats again on the buck!
WaCoyote
Re: Great Skinning/loading aid. I was going to patent it until I found out how much that would cost and realized that this is not something thats going to make you rich. I researched a bit myself too and cabellas had this in there website so if that guy has a patent I would not be able to get one myself. Also a patent is worthless in todays society on small budget products. If a big outfit wants to "steal" it they can and will. They have deep pockets and could just suck you dry. An ordinary citizen could not afford the legal battle. Best case scenario would be if a company bought the patent.
wtnhunt
Re: Great Skinning/loading aid. Seen those in the cabelas catalogs. Looks like it would work really well. I hunt behind the house, and usually use the tractor bucket to pick them up if I can get to them, then bring them back and hang them from a chain I have setup in the shed.
