ousoonerfan22
My son and I are hunting public land plus on some steep ridges so I would hate to drag a deer over one of those.Would you punch a deer through the front shoulders to drop him in his tracks? Also to do this would you shoot the heaviest bullet you could find? AJ
Re: anchoring a deer in it\'s tracks? Yep, you need to interupt the central nervous system to drop them on the shot. High shoulder shots will usually do that, no matter that bullet is used.
RangerClay
Re: anchoring a deer in it\'s tracks? I use .348 gr. HP powerbelts. Every deer I have smacked has dropped in his/her tracks. Ranger
Guest andymansavage
Re: anchoring a deer in it\'s tracks? 300 gr Hornady SST dropped 2 muleys in their tracks. Both shot behind shoulders. Andy
