More success with precision rifle dead centers

I just got through putting my doe in the freezer from tonight. I shot her at probably 40-50 yds with my knight wolverine, 80 grains of 777 and a 220 grain precision rifle dead center bullet. The bullet entered her front shoulder as she was quartering towards me. It proceeded through her heart and destroyed everything in its path. I recovered the bullet and it retained its mass and had mushroomed to almost twice its original size. If you are having any trouble with jacketed bullets not killing your game quicky and cleanly then this bullet is for you. If you've got deer that run forever when shot with jacketed bullets then try the precision rifle QT's or dead centers. They were recommended to me here last year and I won't shoot anything else now. Just thought I'd give you all an update on their performance. Thanks, Greg

Re: More success with precision rifle dead centers

Hmm, he really doesn't say much bad about them. Basically that they are a good all-lead bullet. heck, I may have the same result with a buffalo bullet but these are the 1st all lead bullets I've tried. With the success I've had I'll stay with them. I had TERRIBLE luck with the hornady XTP's. They would pass through deer, not expand and the deer would run foreverl Basically I shoot short distances, inside of 50 yds usually. These bullets shoot well and expand incredibly. The blood trail on my doe last night was incredible. A friggin blind man could have followed it. Here are a couple of pics of both bullets I have recovered from the deer I shot. The one on the left was 80 grains 777 with a 220 grain bullet shot at around 50 yds. The one on the right was 100 grains 777 and a 220 grain dead center shot at maybe 20 yards. Not sure what made the difference, the powder charge or the distance. Judge for yourself. Greg dead center 220's
