Already time for a new pistol!!

It's that time again to start shopping for a new pistol. I currently have a Ruger P-89 stainless 9mm new as of easter but am looking for something a little slimmer and a little lighter. I am currently looking at the new Taurus 24/7 but have noticed on their web site that it is already discontinued and replaced by the 24/7 PRO. So far this is the only gun I have found that I am remotely interested in.

I was hoping for some suggestions on other pistols to look into for a round $400.

If you guys have any suggestions or comments I'd appreciate them.

Springfield XD... you can find them in 9mm, 40 s&w, 357 sig, and 45 gap. we sell them for $429 at my store. every bit as good as a glock and some people say even better. If you dont like polymer framed guns, we also sell some magnum research baby desert eagles in 40 s&w for around $400.

Re: Already time for a new pistol!!

Glock makes a single stack auto (can't recall the model) that is a little slimmer than the regulars. Kahr also makes a nice compact auto that is very slim. The $400 ceiling is gonna limit your choices. You may be able to pick up a used model of one of the higher end guns for that price range.

Re: Already time for a new pistol!!

the springfield xd is a sweet little gun, you could also look at styers. they make a 9mm and .40 that are pretty good - light weight. i shoot a s40 and my wife shoots a s9. the springfield has a nice, light trigger, and will probably end up replacing my styer.
