Whats the diff between #10 caps and #11 caps?

Are they the same physical size?

One hotter then the other?

In other words, will they fit onto a nipple designed for #11 caps?

My co-worker went to pick up some stuff for us and got these CCI #10 caps for me. He said he was told they would work on my specific ML. Appearently they did not have any #11 left. I have been using #11's made by some German company I can not even begin to remember the name of.

Or if I could, would not be able to spell it! crazy.gif

I wanted to swap over the musket caps but can not this year. Just to many other things require ALL my money.. LOL

Re: Whats the difference...???

I did some research and found that the #10 refers to the cap being 10mm wide. Same for the #11 caps, they are 11mm.

It has nothing to do with one being hotter, or have more spark, then the other.

So my guess is that a #10 cap will not be very good on a #11 nipple. Or it may just be tighter...

Not sure yet, and will not be able to test this until Monday.

They are not same size, and will not properly fit a #11 nipple.

Not so, your research source is very off base. If a #10 cap is 10mm wide it would measure .40" across. I don't think so......

#10 caps were designed for use in percussion revolvers. They are a smaller size and not suited for use with a gun designed for #11's.
